
St. Anthony Village High School (SAVHS) recently nominated seniors Sofie Stendahl and Jadon Skinner for the Minnesota State High School League’s (MSHSL) annual Triple ‘A’ Award. The Triple ‘A’ - Academics, Arts, and Athletics - Award honors high school seniors who have a 3.0 or higher grade-point average and who participate in MSHSL-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.
Sofie Stendahl is a member of the volleyball and softball teams, serving as a volleyball captain this past season and making two trips to the State Tournament with the softball team. Academically, she has a 3.958 GPA while taking four Advanced Placement (AP) courses and one College in School (CIS) course. Sofie has been a member of the Jazz Band since 9th grade, and currently serves as a section leader. She also has three seasons of experience in the MN Youth Jazz Band. Sofie is currently undecided on which college she will attend, but plans to study Kinesiology / Exercise Science.
Jadon Skinner competes on the cross country and tennis teams. He is a two-time captain for both teams and has earned All-Conference recognition in both sports. Jadon is also very involved in band, being a section leader for all four years of high school. Academically, he has a 4.05 cumulative GPA while taking three AP courses, two CIS courses, and three PSEO courses. Next year, Jadon plans to attend Purdue University to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering.
Sofie and Jadon’s nomination has been sent into the MSHSL, and recipients are selected through a multi-level process involving member schools of the MSHSL, the MSHSL administrative regions, and a special committee of educators, business leaders, and members from the fine arts and athletic communities.
