The St. Anthony Village High School Athletic Department is excited to announce that Jenny Patrek will serve as the next head girls basketball coach of the Huskies.
“I am thrilled to have Jenny Patrek as our girls basketball program's next head coach,” said Troy Urdahl, director of athletics and activities. “Coach Patrek has the experience, focus on relationships, care, and guiding transformational purpose to successfully lead our program into the future!”
Coach Patrek brings a wealth of coaching experience to the head coach role, coaching the St. Anthony JV girls basketball team for 17 seasons. Patrek has also spent 19 years coaching volleyball at SAVHS, spending the last two seasons as the head coach of the program.
“I am very excited to rejoin this program as the head coach. I can’t wait to work with the talented, passionate players currently in the program and those to come,” Jenny commented.
In addition to being a standout player at St. Anthony, Patrek went on to play basketball in college at Hamline University. As a Piper, Patrek scored 358 points and nabbed 212 rebounds in her three seasons on the team. She graduated with a degree in mathematics and has taught math at St. Anthony since 2004. Patrek also serves as an Athletics and Activities Instructional Coach for the department, supporting other coaches through training and mentoring.
The Huskies girls basketball team is set to kick off the 2023-24 season on November 30, taking on Minneapolis Washburn at home.
