Four Huskies received All-State honors from the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA) following the completion of the boys and girls seasons. Both programs wrapped up 10+ win seasons in the late rounds of section playoffs.
Meghan Przybilla and Christopher Plaza-Alvarado each received 1st Team All-State honors from the MSHSSCA while Lily Urgiles-Vang and Alan Molina were named 2nd Team All-State.
Activities Director, Dr. Troy Urdahl praised all four seniors' on-field talents and leadership abilities. “Not only are Meghan, Lily, Chris, and Alan phenomenal soccer players, they are also incredible leaders and student-athletes. These are four key athletes who helped make new programs into some of the best in the state!”
Meghan Przybilla set a new school record for most goals in a season with 32, while also tallying four assists in her second consecutive year receiving All-State honors. Lily Urgiles-Vang was a key contributor to the eight shutouts recorded while also leading the defensive efforts for the Huskies.
Chris Plaza earned All-State honors for the second consecutive season after scoring 10 goals, and racking up 12 assists in 18 games played. Alan Molina scored eight goals and found eight assists in his 16 games played.
Boys Head Soccer Coach, Sam Mann Jr. was named the Class 2A Section 4 Coach of the Year in another successful season at the helm for the Huskies.
Dr. Urdahl recognized Coach Mann for his abilities to get the most out of this year's team both on and off of the pitch. “Sam Mann is one of the best coaches in the country! He has a rare combination of skills that makes him special and we are fortunate to have such an incredible transformational coach leading our program. What he does on the pitch with our student-athletes is nothing short of magic!”
Head Girls Soccer Coaches, Sue and Paul Pawlyshyn were named the Class 2A Section 4 Coaches of the Year after being named Minnesota's Small School Coaches of the Year in 2022 and 2021.
"This is another very well deserved award for Sue and Paul," commented Dr. Urdahl. "We are fortunate to have two transformational coaches who give all they have to this program year-in and year-out. We are proud of what they have been able to accomplish working alongside our wonderful student-athletes."
The girls program took second in the Tri-Metro Conference with a 12-3-2 record while the boys finished second in section 4AA, finishing 11-5-2 on the year.
